Ever since talk of the UFC bringing a card to the White House next year surfaced, the buzz has been off the charts. Fighters from every corner of the roster and even some who’ve hung up the gloves are itching to be part of it.
Two names, of course, stand out above the rest: Jon Jones and Conor McGregor, arguably the biggest stars the sport has ever seen. Both have hinted at wanting to headline the historic event but when it comes down to who Dana White would pick if he had to choose, the UFC CEO says the decision is about as straightforward as it gets.
In a recent appearance at “The Jim Rome Show”, White was asked who he would trust more to show up and headline the White House card between McGregor and Jones. To this he replied saying, “Well he (Jones) already put himself back in the testing pool saying he wants to fight at the White House. Conor wants to fight at the White House, he is back but we are not talking about fights for him right now. I trust Conor. Jon I am a little more skeptical about.”
White admitted that, for all of McGregor’s flaws, there’s one thing you can’t take away from him: when he signs a contract he shows up.

The only time he’s ever pulled out is when a serious injury would’ve kept him from performing and because of that, White says he has complete faith in McGregor to headline the card once the deal is done. The tricky part these days is actually getting Conor to put pen to paper in the first place.
White to Meet With Donald Trump to Finalise the White House Card Plans
The UFC is officially heading to the White House for a historic July 4, 2026 event as part of the America250 celebrations, White confirmed earlier this week. Speaking to the Associated Press, White said the card will take place on the South Lawn and air live on CBS, calling it a once-in-a-lifetime moment for the sport. It will mark the first time a professional sporting event has ever been held at the presidential residence.
White revealed he’s been working closely with President Trump and Ivanka Trump to finalize plans, even putting together renderings for the setup. He also stated that he will be meeting with Trump at the end of this month to show him the renderings and finalize plans for the event. The announcement comes the same week the UFC inked a massive seven-year, $1.1 billion-a-year streaming deal with Paramount.
