Steelers vs Seahawks: Big storylines for this week
Last week the Pittsburgh Steelers opened up the regular season with a big win over the New York Jets. This week the Steelers have a chance to go 2-0 if they can get past the Seattle Seahawks at Acrisure Stadium. Here are our big storylines for this week’s game.
DK Metcalf’s revenge game
Last week, Aaron Rodgers downplayed playing his old team and then went out and wrecked them. We are hoping for something similar from wide receiver DK Metcalf this week. The Seahawks traded Metcalf to the Steelers and now Metcalf is the Steelers No. 1 receiver.
Can the offensive line play better?
Last week was a tough go for the Steelers offensive line, particularly the offensive tackles. Broderick Jones took ownership of the struggles but it remains to be seen if he can turn things around in just a few practices.
Who is going to run the ball?
Pittsburgh didn’t get much out of running backs Jaylen Warren and Kenneth Gainwell last week and the team didn’t use rookie Kaleb Johnson at all. Head coach Mike Tomlin is stubborn when it comes to the roster so it could just be more of the same this week.
Who steps up for Joey Porter Jr.?
The Steelers have ruled out cornerback Joey Porter Jr. this week which means it could fall on veterans Jalen Ramsey and Darius Slay to cover on the outside. But if Ramsey starts outside, who is the third cornerback and will the Seahawks take advantage of the matchup?
