Al Ahly are on the brink of securing their first winter transfer window signing, which opens this coming January.
The Cairo giants have stepped up their negotiations to land Jordanian international Yazan Al-Naimat, striker for Qatari side Al-Arabi SC, as they look to strengthen their attacking line for the second half of the season.
According to revelations from Ahmed Shobair on On Sport FM, a preliminary agreement has already been reached between Al Ahly and the 26-year-old forward, with only a few details remaining before the official announcement.

Al Ahly close to wrapping up the Al-Naimat deal
According to Shobair, the Al Ahly management has initiated direct talks with the player, who has shown great enthusiasm about joining the Red Devils. However, Al-Naimat has requested that formal negotiations be opened with his Qatari club before making a final decision. The transfer is expected to be finalized once his participation in the Arab Cup concludes.
Shobair explained: “Regarding Yazan Al-Naimat, everything is clear: Al Ahly has settled the main issues with the player, and all parties are satisfied.”
He added: “I have this information from inside sources, both within the Jordanian national team and Al Ahly. Some tried to mislead me, but I’m not the type to be fooled.”
The former international goalkeeper concluded: “The transfer is practically done. The only obstacle remains Al-Arabi SC. Al Ahly refuses to trigger the release clause out of respect for their excellent relationship with Qatari clubs. Talks are progressing in a very positive atmosphere.”
