Alabama football's record and history in SEC Championship Game

Alabama football is set to face Georgia in the SEC Championship Game on Saturday (3 p.m. CT, ABC). The Crimson Tide (10-2) clinched a berth in the game with a 27-20 win over archrival Auburn next week. The Bulldogs, like Alabama, went 7-1 in SEC play, sustaining their only league loss to Alabama in Week 4. The matchup will be the 34th SEC title game, which has been played annually since 1992.

The Crimson Tide has faced Georgia four times in the SEC title game, with a record of 4-0 against the Bulldogs. The first matchup happened in 2012, which Alabama won, 32-28. The Crimson Tide would go on to win the BCS National Championship that year with a resounding 42-14 win over Notre Dame. Alabama also defeated Georgia in the SEC title game in 2018, 2021 and 2023.
