IHSAA football Super 25 rankings, which teams in Indiana are on the rise in Week 6?

A look at this week’s IndyStar Super 25 power poll, which ranks the top-25 teams in the state regardless of class. Going into Week 6:

1. Brownsburg (5-0): The Bulldogs handled Fishers 42-14. Rougher waters ahead this week at Westfield? Brownsburg is averaging 216 yards per game through the air and 200 on the ground. Last week: 1.

2. Center Grove (5-0): The Trojans have intercepted nine passes, including five last week in a 31-20 win at Trotwood-Madison (Ohio). Junior Trew Paxton leads the defense with 52 tackles. The defense will be tested at Lawrence Central. Last week: 2.

3. New Palestine (5-0): New Palestine is tied with Adams Central for the longest winning streak in the state (19 games) after last week’s 42-6 win over Pendleton Heights. The Dragons are 29-5 all-time against Friday’s opponent, Greenfield-Central. Last week: 3

4. Carmel (4-1): The Greyhounds ran all over Columbus North for a 56-7 victory, accounting for 555 yards of total offense in just 39 plays. Carmel hosts North Central on Friday in a series that has been played continuously since 1966. Last week: 4.

5. Crown Point (5-0): The Bulldogs rolled over Portage 47-7 as junior quarterback Tyce Custy was 17-for-20 passing for 232 yards and two TDs. It was the 21st consecutive road victory for Crown Point, which plays against Valparaiso on Friday. Last week: 5.

6. Heritage Hills (5-0): The Patriots hammered Washington 49-7 last week for a fifth consecutiverunning-clock victory. This week’s game at Gibson Southern will be the biggest challenge to date. Last week: 6.

7. Westfield (4-1): The Shamrocks are on a three-game winning streak since the loss to Carmel after a 21-17 win over Hamilton Southeastern. The challenge gets tougher this week with Brownsburg visiting. Last week: 7.

8. Fishers (3-2): Was last week’s 42-14 loss to Brownsburg just a bump in the road? The Tigers looked strong the week before against HSE. One of the most interesting games of the week will be Fishers’ hosting Avon. Last week: 8.

9. Lawrence North (4-1): Since a three-point loss to Fishers, the Wildcats have ripped off decisive wins over East Central (32-7), North Central (55-21) and Tech (77-0). Ben Davis visits this week, followed by Warren Central in two weeks. Last week: 9.

10. Cathedral (3-2): The Irish rolled to a 54-0 win over Southport last week. Cathedral plays the same Trotwood-Madison (Ohio) team that lost 31-20 to Center Grove last week. Interesting since Cathedral plays at Center Grove next week. Last week: 10.

11. Warren Central (4-1): Sophomore quarterback Jack Quillen had a big game last week in a 38-23 win over Ben Davis, going 9-for-13 passing for 269 yards and three TDs. The Warriors host Pike on Friday. Last week: 14.

12. Bishop Chatard (4-1): Chatard overcame a slow start last week to pull away from Brebeuf Jesuit for a 37-6 victory. Danny Adams continued his big season with 240 rushing yards and four TDs. Chatard is at Guerin Catholic. Last week: 12.

13. Hamilton Southeastern (3-2): The Royals dropped their second straight game with a 21-17 loss to Westfield. Kyle Jenkins had 13 tackles in the loss and Matthew Ruiz had three sacks and a fumble recovery. HSE is at Zionsville. Last week: 11.

14. Avon (3-2): The Orioles snapped a two-game losing streak with a 35-10 win over Franklin Central as Jace Cameron went 17-for-27 passing for 241 yards and a TD and Andre Warfield ran for four TDs. Big game at Fishers. Last week: 13.

15. Decatur Central (3-2): The Hawks have scored 70-plus in two consecutive games after a 73-27 win over Mooresville. Quarterback Bo Polston returned in that game as Decatur Central ran for 356 yards. Big Mid-State Conference game this week as Plainfield visits. Last week: 17.

16. Lawrence Central (3-2): Daylen Lewis caught eight passes for 145 yards and a touchdown in the Bears’ 42-13 win over Pike. Lawrence Central hosts Center Grove looking to snap a seven-game losing streak to the Trojans. Last week: 19.

17. Bloomington South (5-0): The Panthers stayed unbeaten with an impressive 49-14 win over Terre Haute South. Shaun Cooper ran for 241 yards and five TDs on 33 carries. Up next: Southport. Last week: 15.

18. East Central (4-1): The Trojans had no trouble with Batesville in a 45-0 victory. Colton Bellman ran for 229 yards and three TDs on 19 carries. Up next is a 4-1 South Dearborn team. Last week: 16.

19. Merrillville (3-2): The Pirates hammered Michigan City 44-7 behind a massive game from junior quarterback Michael Hill, who threw for 264 yards and two TDs. Up next: vs. La Porte. Last week: 20.

20. Penn (5-0): After close wins over Valparaiso and Mishawaka, the Kingsmen have rolled to three consecutive wins, including a 54-14 blowout of Mishawaka Marian last week. Up next: vs. South Bend Adams. Last week: 21.

21. Franklin Central (3-2): The Flashes dropped a 35-10 decision to Avon last week. Connor Moreland was 18-for-32 passing for 161 yards and a TD. Franklin Central looks to get back on track with Noblesville visiting. Last week: 18.

22. Plainfield (5-0): The Quakers rolled up a 49-14 win over Greenwood as Bryce Sebanc went 11-for-15 passing for 205 yards and four TDs and Luke Starnes ran for 208 yards and two TDs. Massive game this week at Decatur Central. Last week: 22.

23. Lafayette Jeff (4-1): The Bronchos trounced Richmond 64-6 last week. Junior quarterback Trysten Barrett is having a big season with 1,474 passing yards and 12 TDs. Up next: vs. Anderson. Last week: 23.

24. Evansville Memorial (5-0): Luke Brown passed for 152 yards and three TDs as Tigers defeated Evansville Harrison 38-6 last week. Up next: at Evansville Bosse. Last week: 24.

25. East Noble (5-0): The Knights won a shootout 56-40 over Leo as Rylee Biddle went 12-for-17 passing for 304 yards and two TDs and Alex Scott caught eight passes for 224 yards and a score. Up next: at Norwell. Last week: 25.
