Injury Report: Jimmy Butler (pelvis contusion) won't return in Game 2 vs. Rockets

By David Web

The Golden State Warriors will have to finish Game 2 against the Houston Rockets shorthanded.

After suffering a hard fall in the first quarter of Game 2 against the Rockets, veteran wing Jimmy Butler exited the game and went from the sideline to the locker room. Butler was then quickly ruled out for the remainder of Game 2 on Wednesday night due to a pelvis contusion.

Butler finished the game with three points on 1-of-2 shooting from the field with two rebounds in eight minutes. With Butler out, Steve Kerr turned to Jonathan Kuminga off the bench. Kuminga has been out of Golden State’s rotation for the last three games, including the play-in against the Grizzlies and Game 1 against the Rockets.

After being ruled out for the remainder of the game, Anthony Slater of The Athletic reported Butler is set to undergo an MRI on Thursday.

Following two games in Houston, the Warriors will get two days before hosting Game 3 in San Francisco on Saturday evening.
