Michigan State football secured a significant commitment on Thursday and they landed their first Class of 2026 four-star prospect in offensive lineman Collin Campbell.
Campbell will bring a massive body and some massive talent to the trenches for the Spartans — a 6-foot-7, 280-pound offensive tackle out of Gilbert, Ariz., Campbell is ranked as the third-best player in Arizona and the 34th-best offensive tackle in the nation in 247Sports’ composite rankings.

247Sports recruiting analyst Greg Biggins has given a full evaluation on Campbell, and highlighted athleticism and gritty style of play as positive attributes.
“A plus athlete who can really get off the ball and has the kind of nastiness you have to have to excel in the trenches. A finisher who loves to bury his man into the ground and has the athleticism to get out on sweeps and pulls. No issues getting to the second level as a run blocker and shows the athleticism and lateral mobility to slide and mirror as a pass protector,” he wrote.
The commitment comes after Campbell came to East Lansing on an official visit from May 30-June 1 — Campbell left campus remembering why he began to fall in love with the program upon earlier unofficial visits, and was ready to make his commitment within just a couple of weeks.
“I had high expectations coming in…I needed to go back again and really see how much I liked it. I liked even better than I remembered,” Campbell told On3.
Michigan State was in competition with multiple other Big 10 programs for Campbell’s services, including Washington, Minnesota, Nebraska, Purdue, Northwestern, and UCLA. In the end, Campbell’s decision came down to the Huskies and the Spartans, as well as Big 12 program Utah.
