For most NFL teams, reaching the Super Bowl is enough to define a season as a success. For the Kansas City Chiefs, a dynasty that has been dominating the league, falling short in their attempt at a three-peat was a significant setback.
Now, with a new season on the horizon and the same core group ready to run it back, Travis Kelce isn’t shying away from what’s ahead. In classic Kelce fashion, he’s fired up to “rebuild” with his squad and make sure they’re not just back on that Super Bowl stage but that they finish the job this time.
Speaking to a reporter in between holes at the American Century Championship, Kelce shared his thoughts on what he is looking forward to this season. He said, “You know what, obviously just won the Super Bowl. We made it all the way to the dance and I just gotta finish. I think we got an unbelievable room coming back, obviously amazing coaches. I am just excited to get back after it and rebuild this team as we do every year.”

Travis Kelce might be 35, but the Chiefs still trust him to show up when it matters most. Sure, he wrapped up last season with career lows in receiving yards and touchdowns, but when playoff time hit, he turned it on like only he can.
GM Brett Veach says Kelce just knows how to flip that switch when the lights are brightest. They’re hoping to lean less on him this year with guys like Rashee Rice, Hollywood Brown, and Xavier Worthy ready to step up but everyone knows having Kelce on the field changes everything.
Quarterback Patrick Mahomes values Kelce’s leadership, and head coach Andy Reid has indicated Kelce’s playing time will remain steady. Kelce has committed to an intensive offseason to prove he still has plenty left. Whether 2025 becomes another championship season for Kansas City remains to be seen.
