2026 NFL draft: Steelers mock draft update after roster cuts

With the Pittsburgh Steelers putting the final touches on their 53-man roster and the regular season just over a week away, we decided it was time to update our 2026 mock draft. This time we are going five rounds and the focus here is to look at the players who could realistically leave in free agency and the best way to replace them and build for the future.

First round – QB LaNorris Sellers – South Carolina

As of now, we are all in on Sellers to the Steelers by any means necessary. Sellers is raw as a thrower but his athleticism is off the charts and his raw arm talent is elite. If he makes the leap we expect, he’s going to be a lock for the first round.

Second round – WR Chris Bell – Louisville

The Steelers are heading to the season with several guys who would make great No. 3 receivers but no true No. 2 to pair with DK Metcalf. Bell is the perfect mix of siza and athleticism with an understanding of how he can physically dominate opposing defenders.

Third round – G Jaeden Roberts – Alabama

Assuming Isaac Seumalo isn’t re-signed, there’s no good replacement plan on the roster. Roberts is one of the most experienced interior offensive linemen in college football and he’s been impressive against the best defenders in the country.

Third round – DL Keanu Tanuvasa – BYU

Tanuvasa is an ideal breakout candidate this year and if he does, his frame makes him an ideal pick to come in and eventually replace Cameron Heyward, should he retire.

Fourth round – CB Treydan Stukes – Arizona

With Tacario David gone, Stukes assumes the role of No. 1 cornerback, and we love his combination of measurables, along with solid footwork and excellent anticipation.

Fifth round – OT Charles Jagusah – Notre Dame

Jagusah is a freakish athlete with the types of measurables you build in the lab. Before we judge his development, we want to see him get a full season as a start and how well he takes to the game.
