Nebraska volleyball remains No. 1 in latest AVCA/TARAFLEX rankings

The Nebraska volleyball team remained ranked as the No. 1 team in the nation in the latest edition of the AVCA/TARAFLEX Division I Women’s Volleyball Poll, receiving 57 of a possible 61 first-place votes. The No. 2 Texas Longhorns received the other four remaining first-place votes.

The Nebraska volleyball team finished the nonconference schedule with a sweep of the Arizona Wildcats and a perfect 10-0 record. It’s the third time the Huskers have gone undefeated in nonconference play since joining the Big Ten in 2011. 

Harper Murray leads the Nebraska offense with an average of 3.75 kills per set while hitting .281. Setter Bergen Reilly averages 9.61 assists per set and a team high 3.10 digs per set. Rebekah Allick and Andi Jackson lead the defense with 1.19 blocks and 1.13 blocks per set, respectively. 

The Nebraska Cornhuskers (10-0) will open Big Ten play on Wednesday when they welcome the Michigan Wolverines (9-1) to the John Cook Arena at the Bob Devaney Sports Center. The match is scheduled to start at 6:00 p.m. CT and can be seen on the Big Ten Network.
