Well, that didn’t take long. Just days after AEW removed her from the roster page and multiple outlets reported her departure from the company, Mariah May made her debut on NXT.

The 26-year-old immediately becomes the top contender for the “developmental” brand’s women’s world title, with an eventual fast track to the main roster remaining a strong possibility. The blue-chip prospect likely will be the focus of Tuesdays for the foreseeable future, and fans are now chiming in on May officially jumping ship and her stunning appearance.

There were no shortage of comments about just how quickly WWE decided to toss May onto their programming after her alleged AEW departure.

Ricky Saints and Mariah May had very similar introductions—both worked to perfection.

Fans are reestablishing the notion that Jacy Jayne is nothing more than a transitional champion.

Plenty of folks has suggested May has downgraded in status by being on NXT.

The Tony Khan detractors are out in full force after another intriguing talent slipped through his fingertips.

There’s a notion that to make room for May’s signing, the company had to axe R-Truth and Carlito to shed salary.

Many WWE fans are just now experiencing May for the first time and learning about her accent.

May had arguably the greatest women’s program and match in AEW’s brief history. Her work with Toni Storm is generational, and established her ability as a performer and prowess in the ring.

She should have a championship in no time, and this has the makings of being a monumental acquisition for a promotion desperately needing more high-end depth.
