Southern Miss baseball has a rematch in a must-win game.

The Golden Eagles (45-15) face No. 4 Columbia (30-18) in the Hattiesburg Regional and an elimination game at Pete Taylor Park on June 1 (2 p.m.).

The teams have already played once in the regional. Columbia pulled off an 11-4 upset over the No. 16 overall seed Golden Eagles on May 30. The Lions scored 11 runs and outhit Southern Miss 15-2.

Southern Miss earned the chance at a rematch by beating Alabama 6-5 on May 31. Ace pitcher JB Middleton held the Crimson Tide to five runs in seven innings.

The Lions, champions of the Ivy League, fell into the loser’s bracket, falling 14-1 to Miami later in the day.

The Golden Eagles are 26-6 at Pete Taylor Park in 2025. Columbia is 15-16 on the road.
